According to the International Federation of Glass Industries, global glass product sales will reach a new high of $65 billion by the end of 2021.
That’s an almost 30% increase from 2020, and it’s a historic moment. It’s been a crazy year, Gill, a sales executive at America’s largest glass packaging distributor, told me. Sales have gone crazy due to the pandemic; for example: sales of grenade cologne bottle, cylindrical liquor bottles, square whiskey bottles, etc. have increased significantly. People were worried about running out of stock and even started to stock up, which made our inventory dangerous.
OI Glass, the current global leader in glass products, released its latest financial results with record sales. More importantly, supply and demand are getting tighter; too many orders have been delayed due to the pandemic and the safety of our employees as we have had to reduce our staff to avoid risk.
Let’s see what happens this year.
