Why won’t fresh milk in glass bottles be eliminated?

Most of the milk you see in supermarkets is packaged in Tetra Pak cartons or plastic. In supermarkets, the most common ones are Tetra Pak and roof-top packaging cartons. The biggest advantage of carton packaging is that it is light and low cost, while glass itself is heavy and the labor cost and transportation cost are much higher than carton packaging.

But glass bottle packaging has not been eliminated yet, why is this?

The properties of glass bottles are very stable
Glass is a very stable material, so when glass bottles are used to store milk, there is no chemical reaction between the milk and the container, which can ensure the stability of the milk composition, the high-quality nutrition in the milk can be better preserved, and the fresh taste can be guaranteed to the greatest extent.

Glass bottles can maintain low temperature effects for a long time
Pasteurized fresh milk needs to maintain a good low temperature environment during transportation and storage, and glass bottles can just meet this demand. After the glass material is refrigerated, the temperature change rate is slower than that of other containers such as plastic bottles and cartons. It can better provide a low-temperature storage environment for milk and better lock in nutrients.

Glass bottles have a high recycling rate and are green and environmentally friendly
Glass bottles for bottled milk that are usually ordered need to be recycled. Consumers need to put the finished glass bottles back into the milk box for recycling and reuse.

Although Tetra Pak cartons and plastics are lighter than glass bottles, plastics and Tetra Pak cartons will not be recycled for milk repackaging. After use, they can only be thrown away directly and wait for the garbage truck to take them away. After being transported to the garbage station, they must be classified according to the materials and then transported to different processing stations for recycling and processing. The time, fuel and labor costs are much more than recycling glass bottles.

Glass bottles can be reused through recycling, cleaning and disinfection processes, which is green and environmentally friendly. By choosing glass bottles for milk, everyone can contribute to the cause of environmental protection.

Glass bottles are transparent and beautiful, and freshness can be seen
Compared with other packaging materials, you can see the quality (color, properties) of milk in glass bottles at a glance. Fresh milk is poured into the clear bottle. After a slight shake, the pure white milk drops slowly slide down the transparent bottle. The rich texture is clearly visible, and you feel the incomparable freshness. Or the thick yogurt passes through the transparent bottle, exuding the mellow taste, stimulating your infinite taste buds.

Glass bottle milk carries memories and feelings
Glass bottle milk carries the memories of a generation, has experienced the baptism of time, and has left a deep imprint in people’s hearts. It allows people to recall the feelings of the past, and the old-fashioned mellow fragrance has been deeply engraved in memory. There are endless memories about glass bottles and fresh milk.

As a traditional milk packaging, glass bottles are “environmentally friendly”, “low cost”, “reusable”, “non-toxic and tasteless”, “transparent and beautiful”, “good barrier properties”, and are also “heat-resistant”, “pressure-resistant”, and “cleanable”.

These advantages determine that it can be “sterilized at high temperature” and “stored at low temperature”.

However, glass bottles also have disadvantages, that is, they are inconvenient to carry, heavy, and easy to break. Compared with the disadvantages, glass bottles have more advantages!

The raw materials of bottled milk are mostly milk from large-scale ranches, with good milk quality, strict processing technology and distribution system, and are generally filled with fresh pasteurized milk or yogurt.
